Adrenaline attraction you will remember!
The adventure starts at the edge of a cliff below the hotel “Lovac” and it consists of two steel cables above 100 m ground level. First steel cable is 220 m long, and it can reach a speed of 40 km/h and a maximum height of 100 m, just above the sinkhole. We land in the yard of the Writer’s house. Here is a starting point for the second line (280 m) which can reach the speed of 50 km/h and gives you enough time to enjoy the unusual view of a grandiose abyss and a medieval castle on its cliffs. We land on the belvedere above the Grandma’s house cave, exactly on the spot from where the famous photo was taken, which was used by illustrator Leon Bennet preparing gravure for Jules Verne’s novel “Mathias Sandorf”. After the amazing bird flying over the Pazin cave visitors come back to the starter point by walking on the marked foot path.
Caving adventure Pazin cave
Pazin cave is a speleological object which is protected by law and can be visited only with guides – the members of the Speleological Association “Istra” Pazin, in cooperation with the Public Institution “Natura Histrica”. They will take you into the underground of the Pazin Cave throughout the year depending on the weather conditions and upon request. The visit is organized in a natural ecological way and it gives you a unique experience of the underground.
In the beginning, there is an introduction about how to use the basic equipment which is necessary for the Speleo-adventure and the guides inform you about where it is allowed to move, possible obstacles and how to overcome them in the easiest way. There is a slight descent through trail to the canyon in the riverbed Pazinčica. The underground part of the trail is about 200 m long and it ends with a big hall and an underground lake which length is 80 m.
There is a small zip line inside the speleological object which transfers visitors to a sandbar of the underground lake. It gives a unique dimension to the speleo – adventure.
The return is done on the same trail after the end of the underground visit. The total height difference is approximately 118 m.
Adrenalin park Kringa
In Kmačići, on the road between Sveti Lovreč and Kringa, you will find Adrenalin Park Kringa. The park extends on an area of 19.000 square meters.
The newly opened adrenaline park offers a short track at 1,5 – 2 meters height, a long track at 5 – 6 meters height, 4 zip lines, a large swing and a quad track. Horseback riding is also available.
Within the adrenaline park there is also a fast food restaurant.
As far as the safety system goes, the swiss system Saferoller is used, which currently is the best and safest on the market. Instructors are certified technical instructors for adrenaline parks and trained guides for adventure activities performed in nature.
Walking
Walking and hiking trails in central Istria are marked with hiking signs (a white dot with a red border) and in some points with indications pointing to alternative directions. Most of the trails were designed and marked by members of the Pazinka Hiking Association from Pazin, to celebrate 125 years of organised hiking in Pazin and Istria. There is an extremely large number of trails, but their maintenance is uneven. Due to the abundance of vegetation that in late spring quickly covers the signs, it is not always possible to ensure the optimum state of each particular trail, so we recommend you to seek information about the current state of a particular trail from our Tourist Office before departure or choose one of the organised trekking tours offered by the local Contineo agency.
Below only the most attractive and passable trails are described.
Free climbing
The free climbing sport club “Hiperaktiv” from Pazin, together with the Tourist office Pazin, has equipped two smaller, but very attractive climbing places with about 10 directions of a good quality. They are on the way to Pazin, just before you enter the town from the direction of Rijeka. The approach is possible by a car, there is also a kind of natural temporary shelter under the rock and you can bathe in the summer. There are fresh water springs there. The distance between “Zarečki krov” and the town is about 2 km (10 min), and it takes about the same time to get to “Lido”, another climbing place you can reach by going downstream.
Freshwater fishing
Fresh-water fishing in Istria? Yes, of course! Thanks to its mild climate, Istria is one of the rare places where fish bite even in winter, when the fishing season is long ago finished for other areas. See for yourself and join the Cup of Pazin City – an international competition in angle fishing, which is traditionally held in October.
